Day 1-3

Well, the orientation was, to be honest, boring. The water games was disappointing, especially when the sponge game was cancelled. The ice-breakers were sorta fun, but my favourite activity would be the High Elements on day two. As for my favourite day one activity/game, would be dodgeball. And with this, I would also like to thank the PSLs for taking care of us 'newbies' for the three days. Even so, I have to say the orientation was enjoyable. (Sorry for being late).

Orientation Reflection

At the start of Orientation I didn't really know the class at all. I was really nervous and afraid. But after a few ice breakers I managed to make a few friends that I could talk to and relate to. Of course, the PSLs were always there to guide us. We learnt how important class spirit and teamwork was through the games that required all of us to co-operate and be patient with one another.
On the second day we had more games. They taught us that clear communication was important. With all of the voices crowding together we could not hear our teammate's individual instruction. The back to back drawing also taught us that precision in instruction was key. The high elements was a good analogy of how important balance was.
The third day was very fun. On top of the many games we played, we got to bond with one another even more. Although we might not have got into the top three positions for the amazing race (and we didn't get to have a sponge fight) , we had a lot of fun together .
I enjoyed the orientation very much and am grateful for the people who helped plan the wonderful event.

My orientation reflection

Overall, the orientation was above my idea of an orientation (boring things, 'tell me about yourself', stay in the class for the whole day). It was so different it didn't even feel like an orientation, more like a camp (to the point where it felt we weren't going to a new school). I liked all the activities, from the first ice-breakers to the Amazing Race. The Amazing Race was a but unfair because most of the classes 'sabo' us, I'm pretty sure we had the most 'x's on our grids, but it was still fun. The High Elements was quite fun, just that it was WAY too bright to see our friends sometimes. The PSLs did a great job and I feel sometimes that they are the ones who deserve a round of applause. Well, time to get on with a boring school life, though with the MacBook it'll be different.

"Daily Reminder" Format Update Notification

Dear S1-08,
From tomorrow onward, I will try my best to make the Daily Reminders easier to read, first, by adding color codes for every subject. I will try my best to match the color of the subject files with the color code of the subject in this blog. Now on, I will also add the day in front of the date and try my best to add a due date available. I will also post reminders on what to bring and current assignments.

Reflection Of 3 Days Of Orientation

Since i was young, my idea of an orientation was some teachers letting us watch some videos, but when the orientation started, i got a completely different idea. I never expected it to be this fun!
During the 1st day of Orientation, we did some icebreakers, which were very fun, and we learnt how important teamwork was.
During the 2nd day of Orientation, we did high elements and more teambonding activities, we were assigned a few activities, and one of them was to go back to back and draw, it was pretty hard, but nevertheless quite fun. The High Elements was challenging, as it was to let us conquer our fear, i passed it quite quickly.
During the 3rd day of Orientation, we did the Amazing Race. We played Water Games, like Xtreme Rock Paper Scissors, but when we were waiting to play the sponge showdown, one of the teachers stopped it, for safety reasons, it was really disappointing.
Overall, I had fun, and I hope the school keeps up the good work for future Sec 1 students.

Reflection for 3 days

I really enjoyed the three days of orientation and have learned a lot of new things. During the first day I made new friends and really got to know every one of them better, we played different games and got to know the vicinity of the school better through the orientation. On the second day we went for high elements it was my first time trying out the high elements and I felt excited we worked together during the games. The PSL were very friendly and have helped us a lot during our orientation. Finally on our third day and final day of the orientation we played the amazing race which was very fun it also taught us some valuable things like teamwork and communication that helped us along every game we came across. I want to thank the PSL and teachers for helping us on our orientation.

Reflection on orientation

My reflection... frankly speaking I really had a lot of fun with my new set of friends!!!
At the start of this orientation I was quite scared about the "friend making" part , but through out the orientation there where many games put up for us which included working together....it turned out to be not  as difficult as I thought it would be. I think that they all are really friendly and i am looking forward to working with them in the future. And last but not I would really like to congratulate all of the PSLs for putting this together so well for us. With you guys this orientation would not have been as much fun as it was!!!!!!!
(Guys: Marcus, Natalie and Rei Zhi)
:):):)

Overall Orientation Reflections (Day 1-3)

On the first day of orientation, I was with S1-01 and it was rather fun as we tried our best to know each other better, thinking that it would be our class for the next two years, totally oblivious that I would be posted to S1-08. I had to start completely over again making friends and trying to know each other. It also meant I would not be able to meet my friends, whom I have met in S1-01, as often. On day two, which was my first day with S1-08, I met my new class and new PSLs. I had much fun in all the activities and the rope course. It was more intense and I was thrown into action with the class, without even knowing majority of their names. Still, I cheered on and participated actively. On day 3, we had limited time and so we could not complete every activity in the Amazing Race, however, it was not about winning, the main purpose teachers and PSLs put it up was about class bonding. Knowing others better, I had much fun in the activities. Sadly, we did not manage to complete what sounds the most fun, the sponge fight, due to safety issues, which still comes first. I enjoyed the orientation a lot, with much thanks to the PSLs, who took great care of us, introducing us to the community of SST and everything. I appreciate everyone who had spent time and effort preparing all these for us.

Reflection about the 3 days of Orientation

The three days of Orientation was really meaningful to me and I really learned a lot in this few days. During the first day, I was, to be honest, nervous and scared, mainly because I only see unfamiliar faces when I look around. What make me even more scared is me forgetting to bring the storybook. Even during the ice-breakers I was still quite scared and didn't want to talk to anybody. Even so, I was guided smoothly through by our friendly PSLs who have taken time out to help us (their juniors) around the school. For the second day, I thought the high elements were going to be fun but when is was our turn, after I have gone up 12m high, Yong Jiang didn't dare to come up so I had to cross the course alone which is suppose to be done by two pupils, for that, I am quite proud of myself. On the third day it was quite sad for me as the third day just means that we will have to leave our PSLs and go on with class for the next four year but it was still quite fun and I really enjoyed the activities that they have planned for us. And before I end my reflection I  would really like thank our PSLs: Marcus, Rei Zhi and Natalie for all the effort that they have put in just to help us. Thank You

My Overall Orientation Reflection.

It was very interesting and fun. Especially the Amazing Race as we had to run the school to complete some activities that were very fun. The first day felt good getting to know about our classmates as we would be work with them as a class for the next two years. I learnt more about our school's facilities through the orientation. The PSLs were very friendly an understanding. The high elements tested almost all student's perseverance as the activities were very high above the ground and most people feel afraid when being very high above the ground. Some of us (including myself) were very mischievous as we were playing with the pebbles on the ground during the high elements activity. The amazing race in day 3 of our orientation tested our stamina as we had to move from place to place all around the school as fast as we could because it was a race....against time. Unfortunately for us, we could not do the sponge fight as the teacher said, at the last minute, that it was not very safe. So, we went to another station and therefore completed our Amazing Race. I learnt that task are more easily completed in a group than individually.

Reflection For the 3 Days of Orientation

I thought after the first day of school, we would immediately start studying. I didn't expect the school and the PSLs to organise water games and high elements!!! It was so much fun and exciting. I hadn't had these kind of activities since Primary 5 Camp.  I know everyone says this but I mean it more. I had the best PSLs in the whole wide world. Probably because they are the only PSLs I know. :) During the high elements which was the most exciting event, I had to walk across a hard rope while holding another rope. I know all the students will know what I mean even though I can't describe it exactly. That means I had to.....
TRUST SOMEONE I JUST MET AND PRAY TO GOD THAT HE SAVES MY LIFE IF I FALL!!! Luckily they saved my life and I'm so happy that they like me. If they didn't... AHHHHHHHHHHHH! The sad thing of the entire orientation was we didn't get to do the sponge fight:( Overall, I have to thank the PSLs for doing organising this orientation unlike some schools who would have made it boring. - Thank you so much PSLs.
I know that in 2015, when the new students come to the school, you will make the orientation more fun for them then the following year. Keep up the fantastic work!

reflection on the 3 days

Baheera binte mohamed ali

Yesterday, sad to say was our last day of orientation. But of course I had loads of fun with all my wonderful classmates.I  had most fun with my classmates in the amazing race.It as extremely fun.We had water games and other games as well.I personally liked the water games as we had lots of class bonding when we were playing them.We as a class worked together to very harmoniously and tried to win the games.Through that process we got to know each other better.
Not to forget the PSL's who were really of great help.Without them i think i wouldn't have enjoyed my three days of orientation interacting with them and creating a bond with them
Anyway yesterday we had to complete the class decorations.I think the class looks very fun after the decorations.I really hope that the parents would like our class decorations.I think after what the PSL's told us about the badge night i am really excited.I think what we did during the past three days of orientation has actually made the class become closer.
Any way i think we have to bid farewell to our fun filled orientation and relaxed days and welcome the life which is more stressful and filled with examinations.I am sooo excited for the lessons to start!!!Whoo Hoo!!!

My Overall Reflections

At first I thought we would stay in the classroom most of the time , but we got to run around and have fun .Overall I have leant to play as a group. I also learnt to communicate better with my classmates and made more friends. It has been an unforgettable experience for me. I would like to thank my PSLs for helping us and advising us on what to do for the next 4 years.

My Overall Reflection

The 3 day of orientation was better than I thought, but the first day of school was quite scary because we didn't know each other so I felt very scared and nervous, but after making friends with Ryan,Jing Yu and others,I felt like I had known them for 1 year already. On the second day,I thought it will be very fun and it will not be scary at all,but the moment i was up there preparing to do the high rope course,I felt terrified and wanted to go down, but because of Ryan,I didn't go down because we will need 2 people to do it together. On the final day of orientation,I felt a bit sad because we will have to say goodbye to the PSLs,because we might not get the chance to see each other.Overall,i think that during this 3 days of orientation,I made a lot of new friends and learnt a lot of new things.

Reflection of Orientation

I think these three days of orientation was one of my unforgettable experience. This orientation was well planned. I got to know more about the school. It was very useful. I just felt the games were fun. I got to know more people through this orientation on the first day. I enjoyed this activities by participating actively. On the second we did some other activities and high elements. The third day  we played water activities. I enjoyed the extreme scissors paper stone. The PSLs helped us in every way they could. We were lucky to have such PSLs. I was surprised when I got to know that our class was the fourth. It also mean that we have done a good job. I felt that our class spirit was very high. I look forward to know my classmates more.

SST Orientation Reflection (Day 1-3)

During the three days of orientation , I learnt to communicate better with my classmates and made more friends. I also enjoyed the dodgeball on the first day of orientation. I was disappointed that we could not play the sponge fight on the third day of orientation as it was canceled. But I had lots of fun and would like to thank the PSLs for all their effort for the games like the Amazing Race.

my overall reflection

i felt that the activity was meaningful as i got to know most of my friend and learn that we all had made a good team. I think that me and my friend had go through thick and thin. I would like to thank my PSL(peer support leader)for teach me and helping me.i also play a fun game at the station.the PSL must have work hard preparing for the game. when at the tight rope everyone help out when someone fall. Overall is was fun

My reflections

The past few days were orientation. I really enjoyed a lot during orientation. However, when I first stepped into the school, I thought that the first few days of school will be like primary schools, with talks and briefings which are very boring. Instead, the first day itself was very fun. Unexpectedly, I made quite a lot of friends. Everyone were friendly and I easily got to know them and their interests. For this to happen quickly, I think that the activities planned in the orientation was the reason. Through fun games i learnt my classmates names and their hobbies. The PSLs were kind are friendly and they thought us somethings about the school which I find very useful to get to know about the school well. The station games was also helpful for me to get to know more about the school. We went around the school which made me get used to the surroundings well. I learnt how to work as a team and to participate actively. In day 2, we went for the high elements. Even though, it was my second time going there I still felt scared to balance on the ropes. However my wonderful classmates, cheered for me and encouraged me. Over there I learnt to not give up. In the amazing race, the class had to do activities together. When doing that i learnt to cooperate and work as a team to complete  each task. When i did not get a chance to attempt an activity i think i should have cheered for my classmates who were trying very hard to complete the task. In future i think i have to support for my classmates more and i am sure i will.

Overall of orentation

Overall I have leant to play and do as a group to succeed. we also leant to face disappointment like the sponge fight was cancelled when we wanted to start playing. But throughout this orientation, I learnt more on my classmates on communicating with them and going through games with them. I want to thank the PSLfor helping us with the games and coming up with great things to do.

Reflection for orientation

I have personally learnt quite a lot during the orientation both from the PSLs and teachers(e.g how the school layout is like , some of the school rules and the impotence of values.)I had fun in almost every activity except for the sponge fight. All in all i felt that the whole of the three days was very enriching and fruitful as i have made a number of friends too.thank you Marcus, Rui Zhi,Natalie for making this possible:D
